Baywood is a neighborhood filled with rich history and stories about the early days of San Mateo. To hear that history and stories about the famous early residents of San Mateo, please join us for a very special Baywood Coffee Social at St. John's Cemetery, 910 Oregon Avenue, Saturday, June 3rd 9am-11am.
The first 25 people who RSVP by emailing baywoodneighborhood@gmail.comwill be treated to a guided tour by St. John's Cemetery Board Director and recently retired San Mateo Director of Parks and Recreation, Ms. Sheila Kanzian. Sheila devoted her professional life to lifting up San Mateo's open spaces and is a local history buff. Join her to learn about the early famous families who are buried at St. John's...like the Parrotts, whose estate, Baywood, became the original Baywood subdivision in the late 1920's. Sheila's knowledge of local history will bring early San Mateo residents to life and give us a warm and unique understanding of where we live in Baywood.
This tour is the first ever given to Baywood residents by St. John's Cemetery. The spots on the tour will fill up fast, so don't wait...sign up for the tour as soon as you read this by emailing baywoodneighborhood@gmail.com.
As a result of this special opportunity, we will NOT be holding our Baywood Coffee Social at Bay Tree Park in June. Instead, we will hold it at the gates of St. John's Cemetery. Animals are not allowed on cemetery grounds, but you are welcome to bring any children whom you can hold or who can walk quietly beside you. As always, we will be serving delicious 3 Bees Coffee and Draeger's pastries.
We thank St. John's Cemetery for their interest in becoming more involved in our neighborhood and for being such good neighbors to open their doors to us. We look forward to seeing you all there (910 Oregon Avenue) on Sunday, June 3, 9am-11am.

SIGN UP TODAY TO BE A SELLER AT THE
ANNUAL BAYWOOD YARD SALE, SATURDAY, JUNE 17TH, 9AM-2PM
It’s time to sign up for the 10th annual Baywood Neighborhood Yard Sale, Saturday, June 17, 9AM-2PM!
This community event is a great way for you to “spring clean” your home of loved items you no longer need…they will become someone else’s treasures! Our Baywood Yard Sale typically draws over 200 treasure and deal hunters from around the Bay Area.
Now is the time to start cleaning out your garage, attic and closets in preparation for this fun event. Get rid of that set of chairs that no longer fits in your family room, those surplus/unneeded tools, those toys your kids no longer play with.
Residents can sell items from their front yard or team up with other Baywood neighbors and consolidate at one of your homes.
Your Baywood Neighborhood Association Board will create a map of all participating sellers and promote it on social media, Craigslist and in our Baywood Bulletin monthly email. We also will create banners and place them around Baywood to get people excited.
How To Participate
Identify what goods you want to sell.
Assemble a summary list of types of items that will be in your sale.
Let us know you want to participate by Monday, June 12th at the latest (sooner is better!) by sending an email to baywoodneighborhood@gmail.com. Please include your:

For those residents who choose to donate all or a portion of their sale proceeds to a local nonprofit, please let us know so we can spotlight your gift in our next newsletter.
