Shred & E-Scrap Recycling Event

May 13, 2023

 The San Mateo Public Library teams up with RethinkWaste and Recology San Mateo County to offer two FREE document destruction (Shred) and e-waste recycling events each year. San Mateo residents who can provide proof of residency can bring paper documents and confidential materials for safe and secure shredding done onsite. See details for what to bring

San Mateo City Council Special Meeting

May 15, 2023

As the City's legislative body, the San Mateo City Council represents the entire community and is empowered by the City Charter to formulate Citywide policy. San Mateo has five (5) Council Members. Each serves at large, meaning each is elected by the entire citizenry to represent the whole city, rather than just a particular district or region of the city.

From Soil and Seeds to Nutritious Vegetables: A How-to Guide for Vegetable Gardening

Learn about the basics of healthy soil and a plant friendly environment, seed germination and seedling care, transplanting of seedlings and care of growing plants, as well as vegetable harvesting and post-harvesting garden care. Attendees will become well versed in beginning with packets of seeds and ending with a variety of vegetables! Presented by Nick Landolfi, Master Gardener.

Mental Health Matters 2023: Community Wellness Fair and 5k Run/Walk Event

Mental Health Matters is a large community event that brings together all walks of life for a day filled with fun, learning, and wellness. Activities are aimed at supporting mental wellness while also providing education around mental health services in San Mateo County. This event is also a space for individuals to strengthen connections with each other and meet fellow mental health advocates in the community.

San Mateo County Fair 2023

June 3-11, 2023
The award-winning San Mateo County Fair is the Peninsula’s premier community event for family fun and entertainment. The San Mateo County Fair strives to provide a diverse experience through education, inspiration, and entertainment. The annual Fair represents a celebration of our community’s talent, interests, innovations, and rich agricultural and artistic heritage.

SMC Pride Celebration and Parade

Please join for the first San Mateo County Pride Parade! The San Mateo County Pride Celebration is in its 11th year, providing a space for inclusion, belonging, and community. So it's about time to add a parade to the mix. The parade is FREE to attend and open to all. The theme for this year is "Free to Be Me in 2023."

Acterra's Green@Home Workshop: Planning for Electrification

Annual Baywood Yard Sale

June 17, 2023

This community event is a great way for you to “spring clean” your home of loved items you no longer need…they will become someone else’s treasures! Our Baywood Yard Sale typically draws over 200 treasure and deal hunters from around the Bay Area. Now is the time to start cleaning out your garage, attic and closets in preparation for this fun event. Get rid of that set of chairs that no longer fits in your family room, those surplus/unneeded tools, those toys your kids no longer play with.

Central Park Music Series

June 22-August 10, 2023

This is a signature summer event that brings you eight evenings of free live music every Thursday evening. Music lovers of all ages gather in Central Park each week for a night of music, dancing, food, and fun! Come join this popular gala of local music showcasing the diverse Bay Area music scene.
