Meeting Details:

Phone:

+1 669 900 9128

Webinar ID: 838 8692 3571

We'll start off with fun presentations from students from Baywood, Borel and Aragon. Then, Rick Bonilla, our Mayor, will present his vision for San Mateo and the opportunities and challenges he sees. It's a great time to ask him all the questions you have and tell him what's on your mind. Finally, we'll have a presentation about the Baywood Historic Building Survey being conducted. This will help us understand whether Baywood qualifies as a Historic District and will be important input into the San Mateo General Plan. Everyone in Baywood should be interested in the survey findings.

We hope to see you on the 16th and promise you'll be glad you attended!

A NEW NAME AND LOOK FOR YOUR ASSOCIATION

Our New Year's resolution was to better reflect the beautiful and diverse community that is our Baywood neighborhood. So we decided to change our name from "Baywood Owners Improvement Association" to "Baywood Neighborhood Association" and freshen up our logo. Our original name was created in the late 1920's when our neighborhood was formed. The purpose of the association then was primarily to improve the community for the betterment of the homeowners. Today, our association's primary focus is to enrich the wonderful community we call Baywood for all of our neighbors. From the fun events we put on, to our beautification projects, to the advocacy we undertake on behalf of Baywood with the City, we do it all to create the most welcoming, engaged Baywood neighborhood we can. We think "Baywood Neighborhood Association" better reflects this feeling. In updating our logo, we wanted to retain the beautiful old Bay Tree that is the heart of Baywood (see our Nov. 2018 blog post for a history of this amazing tree) while freshening up our look and feel to better reflect the friendly feel of our Baywood neighborhood. Take a look at our old and new logo...we hope you'll like the changes! Our website URL now is www.baywoodneighborhood.org, our email is baywoodneighborhood@gmail.com and our Facebook page is www.facebook.com/baywoodneighborhoodassociation (if you use any of our old contacts, you will be forwarded to the new ones). Please let us know what you think about the changes and please join our Baywood Neighborhood Association if you haven't already...thanks!

SAN MATEO CITY UPDATES

IMPORTANT: ATTEND UPCOMING SAN MATEO GENERAL PLAN MEETINGS

San Mateo’s General Plan 2040 anticipates that, in the next 20 years, we will undergo an almost unprecedented level of population, jobs and housing growth. Even the most modest of the three alternative scenarios our City is contemplating looks at a population increase of 30%, jobs increase of 20% and a housing increase of 27%. The most aggressive alternative calls for population and housing growth exceeding 50% of 2020 levels. The impacts of this growth will be felt Citywide.

That's why we encourage you to complete the survey below, attend the following General Plan meetings, and ensure your voice is heard about what San Mateo's future looks like!
